Driving the Agenda to Digitize Sri Lanka

Pulani Ranasinghe, an innovative technopreneur based in Colombo, has dedicated her career to harnessing technology for meaningful impact. Loons Lab, the software company she founded, and where she serves as the CEO, is pioneering innovative technology solutions that support the digital transformation of corporates, industries and critical sectors of the economy.

In Sri Lanka’s tech sphere, it remains relatively rare to see women leading tech companies and driving innovation. Hence, Pulani’s leadership at Loons Lab underscores her impact as a trailblazing woman in the country’s tech industry.

Pulani’s most notable work is with Kraydel, a technology start-up she helped develop in 2016. The project focuses on non-intrusive monitoring systems for elderly people living alone, integrating environmental sensors, a tablet interface, and a wrist strap for health and fall detection.

Beyond her work with Kraydel, Pulani has been actively involved in initiatives that showcase her commitment to community development and education. She played a key role in organizing the National Leadership Development Seminar in 2014, Sri Lanka’s largest residential and international conference under AIESEC, which brought together over 220 delegates.

Pulani’s portfolio also includes promoting Sri Lankan tourism through the Turquoise project and contributing to educational tools like the MY TEACHER multimedia aid for the National Institute of Education. Her work reflects a blend of technological innovation and a deep-seated desire to contribute to society.

Currently, under Pulani’s leadership, Loons Lab is playing a crucial role in digitizing Sri Lanka’s public healthcare system. With a vision to continue leveraging technology for social good, Pulani is a forward-thinking leader committed to making a difference
