DIMO has evolved into a diversified conglomerate with a presence in agriculture, healthcare, education, power and energy, water, industrial, and building services, to name a few. With a strategic focus on global expansion, the company is leveraging its expertise to integrate Sri Lankan industries into international value chains. This growth reflects DIMO’s commitment to fuelling dreams and aspirations of the communities while generating economic value to the country.

Building Global Reach

DIMO has contributed to modernizing Sri Lanka’s infrastructure. The company has introduced advanced engineering solutions across multiple industries by forming global partnerships. Its expansion strategy focuses on diversifying revenue streams while tapping global market opportunities. This international growth enhances Sri Lanka’s economic engagement and reinforces DIMO’s standing as an engineering-driven enterprise with cross-border capabilities.

Powering Global Markets

DIMO has significantly transformed Sri Lanka’s power sector. DIMO and its international partners have introduced smart grid management and renewable energy integration technology into local infrastructure. Its long-standing partnerships with global firms such as Siemens have enabled these developments, ensuring that Sri Lanka’s energy sector aligns with international standards.

Beyond domestic projects, DIMO has expanded into international markets. In the Maldives, it is a key contractor for medium-voltage solutions, supporting essential industries, including tourism. Similarly, the company has successfully executed high-voltage power projects in Myanmar and Uganda, demonstrating its ability to deliver complex energy solutions in diverse regions. These international projects showcase DIMO’s engineering expertise and position the company as a reliable energy solutions provider for emerging markets, where infrastructure development remains a key economic driver.

Further expanding its wings in the power sector as a certified Siemens partner, DIMO manufactures Siemens SIVACON S8 and SIEPAN 8PU Low-Voltage (LV) Power Distribution Boards and Motor Control Centers (MCCs) in Sri Lanka, aiming at the export market.

The Siemens SIVACON S8, a highly modular and customizable system suitable for complex, large-scale industrial applications, and the SIEPAN 8PU catering to smaller setups, have undergone rigorous type testing. This ensures the panels are designed and verified to meet global standards. These panels fully comply with international benchmarks such as IEC 61439-1 and prioritize safety for people and systems, making them well-suited for diverse applications.

DIMO also manufactures power panels under its brand DIMO Lumin, which are designed for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. It offers power factor correction capacitor banks, motor control panels, and PLC-based automated systems. By expanding its manufacturing capabilities, DIMO is positioning Sri Lanka as a competitive player in high-value global industries while securing a place in international supply chains.

Additionally, the company’s investment in manufacturing facilities ensures it remains at the forefront of global industry trends. By continuously enhancing production capabilities, DIMO strengthens its ability to provide energy-efficient and cost-effective solutions that meet clients’ evolving demands.  This forward-thinking approach enables the company to explore new markets while maintaining strong relationships with existing partners.

Machinery Without Borders

Recognizing Bangladesh as a strategic growth market, DIMO has established its presence to support its rapid industrial expansion. The demand for advanced construction equipment has surged with booming sectors like cement and steel. DIMO Bangladesh Pvt Ltd was established in response to the introduction of a diverse machinery portfolio, including Komatsu heavy equipment, BOMAG road construction machines, and Kaeser air compressors.

With this global expansion, DIMO now represents Komatsu and BOMAG in the Maldives, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

Beyond construction machinery, DIMO has extended its offerings to material handling and storage solutions, providing Komatsu forklifts and SSI Schäfer racking systems. These additions align with Bangladesh’s evolving industrial landscape, strengthening DIMO’s position in the region.

Meeting diverse customer needs, DIMO has also introduced Komatsu-certified reconditioned machinery from Japan, offering cost-effective yet reliable alternatives at competitive prices.

DIMO has established a dedicated aftersales service team in Bangladesh, ensuring seamless operational support, reinforcing brand loyalty and long-term growth through technical expertise and responsive service.

This expansion highlights DIMO’s adaptability in addressing market demands while securing a foothold in high-growth economies. As Bangladesh’s industrial sector continues to evolve, DIMO aims to diversify its portfolio further and expand its influence across multiple industries.

Transforming the Building Services Sector with Global Expertise

DIMO has extended its expertise in the building services sector beyond Sri Lanka, establishing a strong presence in the Maldivian hospitality sector. The company has secured multiple high-end lighting projects for renowned resorts, including Vakkaru Maldives, Heritance Aarah, The Westin Miriandhoo Maldives, Alila Maldives, Park Hyatt Hadahaa, and JW Marriott Maldives.

Eight years ago, DIMO began supplying, testing, and commissioning lighting control systems, switches, and sockets tailored to the luxury hospitality sector in the Maldives. Today, its growing involvement in large-scale developments underscores its engineering excellence. Representing globally recognized brands such as JUNG, a German specialist in resort lighting control solutions, DIMO is expanding into resort renovations and infrastructure lighting, reinforcing its role in the region’s development. Furthermore, the company is actively exploring opportunities in commercial and institutional infrastructure projects, recognizing the Maldives’ long-term potential as a dynamic tourism hub.

Beyond lighting solutions, DIMO has also strengthened its regional footprint in horizontal and vertical mobility solutions. As the sole authorized distributor, installer, and service provider for TK Elevators in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, DIMO has contributed to several national and commercial-scale projects. Notably, its involvement in the Velana International Airport expansion project demonstrates its regional growth, supplying elevators, escalators, and walkways to enhance passenger movement and operational efficiency. This project is among the few in the Maldives integrating all three vertical mobility solutions, aligning with sustainable development goals by reducing the airport’s environmental impact.

By continuously expanding its expertise across borders, DIMO remains a key player in shaping the building services sector in the region.
