Asanka Bimal Rajasinghe, Chief Executive of N-Able, a technology solutions company stepping into its 15th year of providing technology solutions, shares insights into its transformative journey, impact, and plans for global expansion and growth.
As N-Able steps into 15 years, how would you describe the successes of N-Able?
N-Able plays a crucial role in driving digital transformations by proactively collaborating with our customers to build solutions which best suit their current & future needs. N-Able has undergone remarkable growth, expanding from a small team of 13 to a workforce of 250. Despite this growth, we remain committed to preserving a culture of entrepreneurship which has been the bedrock of our organization since its inception. Our technology focus has also broadened, encompassing 16-17 areas of technology stacks to propel us beyond the next 15 years.
How is N-Able re-investing to be relevant for the future in an uncertain economic environment?
We acknowledge there is an industry-wide challenge around acquiring skilled talent. To address this, we have implemented innovative strategies, in alignment with the wider industry in Sri Lanka.
Although we cannot completely prevent the unfolding brain drain, we have taken proactive measures to mitigate its impact.
With our aggressive regional expansion strategies, especially in locations such as Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, New Zealand and the UK, we have looked at utilizing our colleagues who plan to migrate so that they remain within N-Able and contribute to growth strategies.
As the Leadership, we are exceptionally fortunate to have a significant number of long-serving employees, given we are only 15 years in business. The unique culture of our positive work environment prioritizes not only monetary compensation but also lifestyle factors.
Our culture promotes unmatched freedom, opportunities, and engagement, nurturing talent incubation and driving our ongoing success.
I also believe the industry needs to focus on growing the volume of tech professionals in the country. Some may argue that we need to focus on quality rather than numbers because of our relatively small population, however in order to sustain the IT sector and secure a future of growth, we will have to proactively adopt measures to build the skills and capacity of quality tech professionals produced in Sri Lanka, which is why we are working closely with educational and professional bodies to address this.
As an organization instrumental in introducing state-of-the-art technology solutions, what can the market anticipate from N-Able in the future?
We have built a solid reputation for our mainstream IT offerings, encompassing networking, systems, ELV, virtualization/cloud services, hybrid integration, and intelligent process automation. Our focus now is on digital acceleration and cloud-ready technologies. A gamut of our efforts right now is in assisting and enabling our clients to achieve their business objectives by providing optimized solutions be it on-premises or on the cloud.
Also, the introduction of our managed operations practice has seen tremendous uptake as it has been able to attract very large government institutes and enterprises, since our managed services offering effectively manages end-to-end IT operations from infrastructure to platforms and applications, allowing our customers to focus on their core business.
Apart from the above two, our focus on “data” plays a crucial role. We have been working with customers’ data for the past decade, assisting them in building data warehouses and data lakes to draw intrinsic insights and visualize meaningful reports, which has assisted business leaders to make appraised and cognizant business decisions like they never could do before. We are proud to handle a few clients who possess the largest data sources in the SAARC region, in terms of telcos, banks, and apparel industry leaders.
How do you define success going forward for N-Able?
N-Able has made significant progress in various areas, unlocking growth opportunities for our customers. Starting from serving Sri Lankan customers and now expanding in the ASIAN region. With the strategic move to make N-Able Global Pte Ltd, our corporate office, we hope to extend our reach further, which will define our success in the years to come.
We were able to mature as a trusted technology partner for our customers in the 1st decade of our existence. In the last few years, we have focused on growth and I’m glad that we have been able to multifold our achievements both in terms of top-line and bottom-line YoY.
As long as N-Able can be close to our customers’ business, ‘N-abling’ their digital adaptation, it will help us deepen our relevance in a rapidly changing world, which is an attribute that will always be our source of success going forward.
