Some glimmers of hope appeared for the tourism industry in August with a strong performance from the Indian market that bucked the downward trend from Europe. Sri Lanka is having a convention of the Borah community, in September, but visitors were arriving earlier. However, Western Europe arrivals overall were down 34% from a year earlier.
