Following the Easter Sunday attacks, 37 countries issued travel advisories for all non-essential travel to Sri Lanka and China a ‘do not travel’ advisory. Some advisories, including that of China, have now been relaxed.
Across the country, tourist hotspots, including picturesque new ones finding fame on social media, like Ella are feeling the pain of empty hotels and restaurants. New hotspots like Ella are sprouting experiences that make the most of their spectacular setting.
One such experience is the Flying Ravana, Sri Lanka’s first-ever mega zipline, in Ella. The two-wire zipline extends more than half a kilometre, and hangs 82m above ground, offering a bird’s flight-like experience.
